Teen Driver/Joshua's Law Class

 

 

The Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Hall County School District and Hall County Government, offers the Teen Driver/Joshua's Law course to provide students with the 30 hours of classroom instruction required for driver's license eligibility at age 16 in Georgia.

New for 2025 
ONLINE REGISTRATION begins April 1 at 10 a.m.

 

BECAUSE THIS CLASS IS OFFERED BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AT NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS AND BECAUSE OF ITS POPULARITY, IT IS OFFERED EXCLUSIVELY TO 15, 16 AND 17-YEAR-OLDS WHO HAVE THEIR PERMIT AND NEED TO GET A DRIVER’S LICENSE. 

 

SIGN UP FOR ONE CLASS ONLY. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE CLASSES

 

This is a four-day class (Monday-Thursday). Your child must be present from 7:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. all four days. Deputies only provide the required 30 hours of classroom time. They do not offer the six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. You, as a parent, can follow the guidelines by having your student drive a minimum of 40 hours, six of which must be at night. Additional information

 

You are required to follow the directions to register your child. Within a few days of signing up, you will receive an e-mail from Sgt. Fleming with additional information on the course.

Classes one, two and three will be held at Cherokee Bluff High School during the weeks of June 9-12, June 16-19 and June 23-26. Classes four, five and six will be held in July at Chestatee High School during the weeks of July 7-10, July 14-17 and July 21-24.
