Welcome to the Hall County Sheriff's Office website. We hope that you will be able to use this site to become better informed about your Sheriff’s Office and the services we provide. The Hall County Sheriff's Office is a full service law enforcement agency that provides: 24-hour Uniform Patrol, School Resource Officers, School Crossing Guards, Advance (Youth Education) Program, Neighborhood Watch Programs, Criminal Investigations, Dive Team, SWAT Team, Warrant Service Unit, Civil Process Service, Courthouse Security, Inmate Work Details, Community Service (clean streets) Bus Program, Work Release Program and one of the largest jails in North Georgia with a capacity of 1,134 inmates. Details and photographs of these divisions/units can be viewed through this website.
This website is intended as an informational resource for the citizens of Hall County and the surrounding areas. Our goal for this site is to increase communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Hall County and to provide a mechanism for public access to frequently requested information that is within the public domain.

Inmate Mail Procedures
All personal mail to Hall County Jail inmates should be mailed to:

A return name and address must appear on the envelope. Failure to follow proper procedure will result in the mail being returned to the sender. The facility is not responsible for money orders sent to the wrong address.
All mail will be scanned into the system then made available for incarcerated individuals to view via the digital kiosk in each housing unit. If you are sending pictures and would like them returned you must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

Inmate Property

All inmates are issued jail uniforms and jail shoes. Therefore no other clothing or personal items will be accepted. (This does not include court clothing.) No personal hygiene items or tobacco products will be accepted at the jail. The inmates are allowed to purchase hygiene items through the inmate commissary. Any medication or special needs items must be approved by medical staff.

Court clothes will be accepted no more than two days prior to the inmate court date, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. The inmate(s) will be responsible for having clothing picked up immediately after court proceedings have concluded. Clothes will be accepted for jury trials or by the written request of the inmate's attorney.

Any inmate who has been found guilty and is a state inmate will be required to have all personal property picked up within 10 working days. Any property remaining at the jail after this time will be disposed of. This property may be picked up between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All medications must be in the original container with a prescription label. The prescription must be current, meaning a 30-day supply must have been filled within the last 30 days and a 90 day supply must have been filled within the last 90 days.
*Note: All inmates are required to have one set of street clothes at the facility at all times for use when released or transferred.
